NOVA comes from the cosmic phenomenon — a nova is a star that suddenly bursts into light, outshining everything around it. It symbolizes rebirth, radiant power and limitless expansion. For us, Nova represents the inner light of marginalized communities— queer, trans, disabled and BIPOC people — shining fiercely in a world that too often tries to dim them. It’s about the brilliance and power in pride. A visual metaphor for stunning queer and trans emergence. Nova is the energy and joy that comes from embracing your full self. No longer weighed down by shame and forced into the dark. Nova is the courage to take up space and celebrate who you are — even (and especially) when the world tells you not to.
EDGE speaks to the raw, unapologetic side of survival and resistance. It's the blade's sharp side, the place where two planes meet, the point of no return. For us, Edge is about having the courage to be authentic and true to oneself despite negative impact to general likability. Once shame is shed and pride takes over- there is no going back. It represents the grit, defiance and resilience of our communities. Edge is the refusal to be reshaped- twisted into unnatural forms that are palatable for a world that was never built for us. It’s the boldness to exist on your own terms. It's a statement of transformation, evolution and the power that comes from standing at the edge—and pushing forward.
THREADS ties it all together— literally and symbolically. It nods to both the raw material of fashion and to streetwear culture. Threads represents connection. The connection between us, from the margins, across generations and subcultures. Threads is what links us to one another, through space and times. Between chosen families and shared visions of collective liberation. Every stitch is a tribute to our QTBIPOC-disabled ancestors, to our communities future and to the beauty of our collective pride and euphoria.
Nova Edge Threads is the powerful combination. Nova brings the vision- the hope, the community care- the possibility a liberated future. With it's feminine divine, Nova lights the way forward. Edge brings the heat- the truth, the fight and grit to keep going. Together, they are a celebration of identity. Together it's Pride Without Limits.
Our logo is built with intention and purpose
The bold, all-caps wordmark features NOVA EDGE stretched across center stage. Between them sits the word THREADS, rotated and connecting the two. The symbol is a mosaic design in the shape of a hollow circle. The mosaic reflects the diversity within our communities. The circular formation represents unity around the margins. It represents continuity and a wholeness formed by difference. Clean and geometric, yet loaded with meaning. It’s a sigil of queer & trans power, transformation and resistance.
Designed to hold tension: soft curves holding sharp angles—mirroring the lived experience of those at the edges of society. It’s minimalist, but not neutral. Clean, but never quiet.
This is intentional design for an unapologetic life
We reimagined the symbol into an emblem for our wordmark. The emblem is an abstracted version of our acronym—NET for Nova Edge Threads—which was doubled. It speaks to multiplicity- of identity and experience. It draws inspiration from the structure of yin and yang: two interconnected forces existing in dynamic tension and harmony. It speaks to the way our identities don’t exist in isolation but in movement and interplay with each other—layered, complex, whole.
By abstracting the acronym into this form, we move beyond typography and into symbolism. A visual language of intersectionality and solidarity. It becomes a sigil of our values: interconnectedness, transformation, and unapologetic unity at the margins.
