NET Brand Values

Nova Edge Threads didn’t begin with a business plan.
It began with a gap.

A gap between what pride wear usually looks like and the solid quality we invest in clothing for. A gap between the basic quotes with cartoonish graphics and our what our queer confidence actually feels like. Between being visible and being seen. Between pride month and pride everyday.

We didn’t see ourselves reflected anywhere — so we started creating for the community. We're building something that feels overdue and that shines into the future. Something that can hold complexity, anger, joy, softness, strength, grief, pride, resistance, and celebration- all at once.

These values didn’t come from trend forecasts or branding exercises. They came from conversations, experiences, community spaces, creative collaborations, and moments of asking ourselves: are we building this with integrity?

This is what we return to when we need to answer that question.

Unapologetic Design

We don’t believe in shrinking to make other people comfortable.

Unapologetic design is about creating without conforming to societal normalities. It’s about letting our work carry attitude, politics, humor, and truth — even within the minimal or subtle designs. We're re-defining what pride apparel can be. We're re-imagining pride apparel so you can layer into everyday looks.

Our designs are influenced by streetwear, culture, tattoo art, and the raw creativity of queer and trans communities who have always made something out of nothing. We design to reflect the joy that comes from finally being yourself — visibly and without apology. We design to reflect the confidence that comes when you look good and feel good.

Networked Community

Nothing we do exists in isolation.

Nova Edge Threads is shaped by collaboration, not hierarchy. From pop-ups and photoshoots to grassroots partnerships and feedback loops, community isn’t something we market — it’s something we're grateful to be a part of.

We believe connection is a form of resistance. Chosen family, mutual support, shared resources, and collective creativity are what sustain us, especially in a world that often tries to isolate or erase queer and trans people.

When we say networked, we mean interconnected — across identities, generations, cities, and movements.

Inclusivity & Intersectionality

There is no single queer or trans experience. There never has been.

Our community lives at many intersections: race, disability, gender identity, culture, class, and history. Inclusivity for us means designing with that complexity in mind — not as an afterthought, but as a starting point.

Intersectionality asks us to listen closely, give space and appreciation for nuance and uniqueness. We’re committed to centering queer and trans people of the Global Majority, people with disabilities, and those whose identities are too often pushed to the margins — even within LGBTQ+ spaces.

Quality & Sustainability

We cultivate intention in a world that demands fast.

Quality matters because our bodies, our money, and our planet matter. We choose better materials, fashionable cuts, and longer-lasting builds because pride wear should be at the level of our favorite pieces of clothing.

Sustainability isn’t just about production; it’s about refusing disposability. We stand in opposition to fast fashion and rainbow capitalism, and we assume the responsibility that comes with creating physical goods in the world.

Equity & Evolution

We don’t believe values are static.

Equity requires action — redistribution, accountability, and a willingness to change. That’s why a portion of our profits flow back into grassroots organizations supporting marginalized communities, especially Black, Trans and People with disabilities.

Evolution means staying open and learning when we get things wrong. It means adjusting when our community speaks and understanding that growth is ongoing. We intend to evolve with the community.

UNIQUE

Oh yes, and of course we wanted the values to spell Unique :)

The bold unapologetic self-expression that fuels queer fashion today is rooted in the legacy of Black & Brown Women, especially Trans Women. Their courage, creativity & resistance have profoundly shaped the LGBTQIA+ rights and culture that we all proudly share today. The language, the lingo, the fierce delivery of shade that so many attribute to the Gay Community- is in truth- from the beautiful Black Women in our lives. From the ballroom to the frontlines of liberation, their ongoing contributions are invaluable. We honor them by committing to resourcing our community organizations who center the most marginalized in our communities.

BTTF is a collective of Black Trans artists, organizers, cultural workers, and visionaries, united by our commitment to advocating for and celebrating Black Trans Women around the world. Their mission as a Black trans led collective is to provide Black trans women with financial and material resources towards education, community, safety and removing travel barriers. LEARN MORE
