Why We Don't Charge More for Extended Sizing

Why We Don't Charge More for Extended Sizing

Publicado por Dae-Yeong Lalonde en

In an industry where it’s all too common to see higher prices for extended sizes, we want to share why we’re doing things differently—and why we won’t charge more for our extended sizing.

Equality in Pricing Is a Matter of Principle

At the heart of our brand is the belief that everyone deserves access to well-made, thoughtfully designed clothing—without being penalized for their body type. Charging more for extended sizes sends the wrong message, implying that some bodies deserve to pay more. We're doing things differently. As a 4'10" transmasc person, I can relate to this, it being referred to as a "trans tax" at times because finding clothes that fit well and in style is more expensive. In the industry today, you will pay more for being different than the norm. It's tough to find gender affirming shoes because you wear a boy's 4 or women's 5. Maybe we could someday venture into creating genderless shoewear too.

Yes, Production Costs Can Be Higher—But That’s On Us

We won’t pretend that making a wider range of sizes is always cost-neutral. Patterns need to be adjusted, more fabric might be required, and manufacturing can be more complex. But we see those challenges as part of our responsibility, not something to pass on to you. We're building inclusivity into the way we do business—not as an afterthought or an upsell. We believe that values come first. We prioritize inclusivity over convenience.

From one side of the range to the other— each size is priced the same, across the board. It’s not a marketing tactic or a trend. It’s how we believe better business should be done. We want to ensure that we're all benefiting from our interactions with one another.

You Deserve Better

Everyone deserves to feel confident, represented, and respected in what they wear. No one should be made to feel ashamed for their body size, shape or color. Our decision to keep pricing consistent across sizes reflects our commitment to that ideal. We're proud to be part of the growing movement to make the fashion industry more inclusive, equitable, and transparent.

We’re grateful to our community for holding us accountable, inspiring us, and helping us shape a better standard—together.
